About Sramik.org

Sramik.org is a people-driven, non-governmental civic platform dedicated to protecting the rights, dignity, safety, and constitutional status of workers (sramik) in Bangladesh. The platform exists to ensure that workers—across all sectors, formal and informal—are recognised not merely as labour, but as full citizens with enforceable constitutional rights.

Sramik.org operates under the broader civic framework of Jatiya.org and derives its legitimacy from the Constitution of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, particularly Article 7(1), which affirms that all power in the Republic belongs to the people.

A Constitutional Platform for Workers

Sramik.org is not a government website, not a political party, and not a state authority. It does not exercise executive, legislative, or judicial power. Instead, it functions as a constitutional expression of people’s sovereignty, enabling workers to organise, learn, and unite lawfully in defence of their fundamental rights.

The platform is guided by key constitutional guarantees, including: Equality before law and equal protection. Right to life, dignity, and personal security. Freedom of association and lawful organisation. Protection from exploitation and forced labour. Right to legal protection and due process

Who Sramik.org Serves

Sramik.org is for all workers in Bangladesh, including: Garment and industrial workers. Agricultural and rural labourers. Construction, transport, and day workers. Domestic and informal-sector workers. Migrant, contract, and returning workers. Special focus is given to workers who are economically vulnerable, informally employed, or excluded from institutional protection.

Purpose and Mission

The mission of Sramik.org is to: Raise awareness of constitutional, labour, and human rights. Promote lawful, peaceful unity among workers. Protect workers from exploitation, abuse, and retaliation. Encourage workplace dignity, safety, and fairness. Support access to justice through knowledge and civic documentation. Sramik.org does not promote violence, unlawful action, or partisan agendas. Its approach is peaceful, rights-based, and constitutional.

Democratic and Member-Driven

Sramik.org follows a democratic, member-led structure. Leadership at national and district levels is selected through secure digital voting, ensuring transparency, accountability, and regular renewal of representation. This process reflects the principle that workers must choose their own representatives.

Founder’s Civic Vision

Sramik.org is guided by the civic and constitutional vision of Dr. Raju Ahmed Dipu, LL.M. (UK), who has consistently advocated that workers’ rights are constitutional entitlements, not favours granted by power.

His guiding belief is simple and firm:
When workers know their rights, exploitation loses its power.

Our Commitment

Sramik.org is committed to: Privacy, confidentiality, and non-retaliation. Lawful civic engagement and human dignity. Constitutional accountability and transparency. We believe that no nation can be just if its workers are unprotected, and no worker is weak when the Constitution is known and exercised.

Sramik.org stands with the workers of Bangladesh—peacefully, lawfully, and constitutionally.

Leadership Principle

Leadership of Sramik.org is reserved exclusively for real workers (sramik).
Only individuals who genuinely belong to the working community and share its lived realities are eligible to hold leadership positions at any level.

Sramik.org does not allow leadership by political figures, party representatives, professional power brokers, or individuals pursuing hidden political ambitions. The platform strictly rejects political violence, partisan agendas, and ideological manipulation of workers.

Leadership within Sramik.org is grounded in: Authentic worker identity and experience. Commitment to constitutional rights and dignity. Peaceful, lawful, and non-violent civic conduct. Accountability to worker members, not political interests. All leaders are selected through democratic digital voting by workers themselves, serve for limited terms, and remain subject to continuous scrutiny by the membership.

This principle ensures that Sramik.org remains a safe, independent, and rights-based platform, where workers lead workers—free from political exploitation, fear, or violence.
